An article I wrote about the file saving/sharing application, Dropbox, was recently published in the February 2012 issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News.

The article focuses on the utility's ability to keep files in sync not only between your own devices, but also within a project team or corporate environment. I have been using Dropbox for many years and it is particularly helpful in keeping information circulating among all my MLA peers.

Dropbox is showing its usefulness in big ways while I manage the Georgia Landscape Magazine layout team.  Copy editors are placing finalized copy and submitted graphics in article folders.  Those files are immediately available to the assigned designer. As edits are made or further graphics are submitted, the designer has direct access to those revisions.  My role as layout editor is simplified as I know what files are available and what files are needed.  Final spread layouts will be posted to the GLM dropbox folder this week, making the transfer of multi-MB InDesign documents and full-resolution graphics incredibly easy.

Enjoy the Article!
